One Creatives- Nail Artist – Natalie Kirk

What’s meant to be will always find a way- Trisha Yearwood
It’s always difficult to take the first step but once you take the risk, it’s forever worth it. And this is somewhat the story of Natalie Kirk. A qualified florist turned into a professional nail artist, Natalie Kirk has a very inspiring story regarding how she got into the nail industry. It’s rightly said you’ll ultimately find where you belong and Natalie without a doubt belonged to the nail industry.
Outstandingly talented and with a keen eye for details, Natalie has many feathers on her hat. She is an incredible mother of a beautiful boy and is now a successful business owner. She has her own salon in Breaston, Derbyshire where all the magic happens. Along with that, she also shares all her incredible work on social media with all her amazing followers.
Today, at pyckepedia One Creatives we had a fantastic opportunity to have a small chit-chat with Natalie who told us how it is to be a nail technician.
“I am a qualified florist and my mum suggested to try and get into the nail industry. After the suggestion, I thought about it and decided to give it a go and did a nail course. I have always been into art and maybe from there, the curiosity sparked. I did a two-day course initially back in 2004 and it got me hooked, From there, there wasn’t looking back for me.” Natalie told us.
“I took the risk and it was totally worth it. I opened my salon and that was one of my biggest achievements. It has enabled me to help other girls with their nail careers too.” She adds.

It’s always a challenging task to come up with unique, out-of-the-box ideas for clients. Playing around with the colours and having a brush isn’t easy and that too when you are doing it on the nails, so we asked Natalie about her inspiration and how she gathers it behind every manicure she does. “There’s so many inspirations available these days, from social media to fashion and seasonal changes. Sometimes, not to mention all the amazing nail techs I scroll through every day on Instagram gives great inspiration while sometimes I just wake up with inspiration and itch to paint it on.”
Whilst we were talking about social media, we asked her if she has ever faced harsh comments or criticism on social media because sometimes people on social media can be very rude and some comments can be very hurtful. However, Natalie told us how people have always been very kind and loving towards her and the art. “ Luckily I’ve never had to deal with any hate messages, I’ve found love and support all the way. And somewhere that motivates me to do better each day.” She is very confident about her work and has a great way of dealing with negativity if it ever happens in the space she created with so much love and passion.
“For me, if you don’t like my work, that’s totally fine, carry on scrolling, I’m happy with what I do and have confidence in my work. I’d say the best way would to be not respond, delete or remove anything on your socials that gives you a negative vibe.”
Natalie’s style is definitely winning hearts all over the internet, especially how effortlessly she brings any design to life. Her confident strokes and imaginative skill can make your nails stand out among many, that is for sure!
Many new people are trying to make it in the nail tech industry and on social media. They often find it difficult when there are already so many people doing the same thing. Some quit before even trying but Natalie says “Never be afraid to try out new techniques or products, if something isn’t working for you, then research and try again.” If it still doesn’t work out, asking for help shouldn’t be ruled out either. “If you are stuck, don’t hesitate to reach out to the people who inspire you. I’m always happy to help and advise best where I can.”

With nails and manicures being her first love, we asked Natalie what she loves to do in her free time. “I’m quite a mixed bag! Honestly.” She laughs and answered.“ I Love my holidays, food and being in nature and I also equally enjoy Thai boxing and gardening.”
Talented and successful people like Natalie are an inspiration to many who want to try something new. It’s always worth taking a risk in life because then you don’t regret not taking one. We hope Natalie’s journey in the nail industry has inspired you and motivated you to try out new things because every risk is always for our betterment.
